What is Secure Electronic Commerce (SEC)?

Any electronic commerce transaction (carried out over the Internet) within the European area must be sent by the merchant as a secure operation (Secure Electronic Commerce).Therefore, once the card data has been entered to make an online purchase, the client's Digital Signature is requested in their online bank to authorize the purchase.

Some merchants are still adapting and continue to send operations as Non-Secure Electronic Commerce, so some transactions will be denied for security reasons.
